Blueair was founded in 1996 in Sweden.

Blueair specializes solely in air purifiers and has 5 offices in 5 different countries, including America and China, alongside India and Sweden.

The company was founded at a time in which interest in air purifiers was just beginning to grow.

Blueair’s specialization in this newly emerging field helped it become one of the most cutting-edge manufacturers and it received a number of awards for its air purifier designs within just a few years of being found, such as the Excellent Swedish Design Award.

It initially focused on larger purifiers for use in hospitals and daycare alongside heavy-duty smoke filters for areas with high amounts of gaseous pollutants.

However, by the early 2000s, it began to focus on residential-use air purifiers.

Blueair Air Purifier Models

Blueair air purifiers have focused on energy efficiency and were one of the first air-purifier manufacturers to qualify for the Energy Star program by the US EPA and soon gained the highest CADR rating for its 600 series of air purifiers as well as having the world’s most energy-efficient air purifier according to the US EPA.

In India, it sells 14 air-purifier models –  the Blueair JOY S, Blueair Classic 205, Blueair Classic 270E Slim, Blueair Classic 280i, Blueair Classic 450E, Blueair Classic 480i, Blueair Classic 650E, Blueair Classic 680i, Blueair Sense Plus, Blueair Pro M, Blueair Pro L, Blueair Pro XL, Blue Pure 211, and Blue air 121 .
