Daikin is a Japanese multinational company that manufactures air conditioning systems. It was founded way back in 1924 and is headquartered in the city of Osaka.
The company is the inventor of variable refrigerant volume systems and pioneered in the production of split air conditioners.
Other types of products manufactured by Daikin are chillers, refrigeration units, and air purifiers.
It is also involved in the fields of hydraulics, chemicals, electronics, and defense.
In 2019, the company had more than 76,000 employees, which isn’t a surprise since this multifaceted corporation is almost a century old.

This model from Daikin has four key advantages over regular air purifiers. The first is that it offers powerful bottom suction when kept on the floor.
This means that along with purifying the indoor air, it also takes care of pollutants settled near the floor.
The second advantage is that it comes with a multi-stage filtration process. This uses Daikin’s Streamer Discharge Technology for air purification.
It starts with a Streamer Discharge Unit that enables decomposition and removal of pollutants.
The Pre-Filter removes dust and allergens and the remaining dust and pollens are negatively charged by the Plasma Ionizer.
Next, the Electrostatic Dust Collection Filter absorbs the pollutants. This layer is at the front of the Pleated Dust Collection Filter.
The back of this filter is the Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Filter that keeps odors and viruses under control. Finally, a Photocatalyst & Streamer Deodorizing Catalyst decomposes formaldehyde.
Another two advantages to this unit are that it is portable and has less power consumption.
The maximum airflow is 420 cubic meters per hour, making it a suitable system for rooms measuring 46 meters square.
The Daikin MC70MVM6 features Streamer Discharge Technology that eliminates a wide range of harmful substances found in indoor air.
Some of these substances are pollen, formaldehyde, DEP, exhaust gases, paint chemicals, mold, insects, pet dander, smoke, odors, and viruses. This technology relies on oxidative decomposition to eliminate the potential harm of such air pollutants.
Compared to Standard Plasma Discharge, the effect of Daikin’s Streamer Discharge is wider. This makes it easier for electrons to collide with oxygen and nitrogen in the air.
This model too has a 6-stage purification process starting from the Prefilter to the final Photocatalyst & Streamer Deodorizing Catalyst.
The airflow ranges between 54.6 cubic meters per hour to 420 cubic meters per hour.
The applicable room area is 46 meters square here too but the model display and body design are different.
Other useful features include Dust/Odor Sensor Lamps, Anti-Pollen Mode, Off Timer, Auto Restart, Sleep Mode, Child Lock, and more.
The MC30UVM6 comes with two indicators of air quality. A Dust Indicator displays the level of large house dust ( more than 2.5 micrometers) in indoor air.
Similarly, a PM2.5 indicator informs users of the number of ultrafine particles in the air that are smaller than dust.
This is possible because of the smart PM2.5 sensor that automatically detects and displays the air quality.
This air purifier uses a 3-stage purification system. This comprises a pre-filter, a deodorizing filter, and a true electrostatic HEPA filter that acts as a dust collection filter.
Together, these layers ensure thorough and rapid purification at a rate of 13.2 meters square every 20 minutes.
The CADR is 3 cubic meters per minute, making it applicable for a room approximately 21.5 meters square in area.
It offers four modes of operation, Quiet, Low, Standard, and Turbo.
Each mode has its own noise level ranging between 19 to 44 dB. The relatively compact body weighs 5 Kg and has the dimensions 455 mm(H) x 280 mm(W) x 189 mm(H).
Daikin air purifiers are available in various models catering to different needs.
They boast of a great quality of filters and features such as Streamer Discharge Technology and a 6-stage purification process.
All air purifiers have features that increase users’ convenience like various modes and low-noise operation.
