Daikin is a Japanese brand that was founded in 1924 in Osaka, Japan where it is still headquartered.

The company is a multinational, having worldwide productions in over 90 countries. Furthermore, its products retail in over 150 countries, making it a truly global brand.

Daikin manufactures a truly vast number of air conditioners. These include split ACs, air-to-water heat pump systems, ventilation systems, air purifiers, water-cooled chillers, container refrigeration units, and rooftop air conditioning units to name just a few.

Alongside this, they also make fluorochemicals and eco-friendly oil hydraulic technology.

In India, the company entered the market in 2000, manufacturing ACs for residential, commercial, as well as industrial use.

Daikin Air Purifier Models

In terms of air purifiers, Daikin has a long history of manufacturing them, with its first air purifier being marketed in 1975.

This means it has considerable experience in the field, having sold purifiers for significantly longer than many other international brands which primarily started production of purifiers in the 1990s.

In India, Daikin sells two air purifier models: MC30UVM6, which was their entry model in the country, and the more advanced MC70MVM6.

1) MC30UVM6

This model is the entry model of Daikin in India and is designed for small rooms, being able to cover an area of 231.4 sq. ft .

As such, it also has a very compact design so that it can be easily placed in any room. While a CADR is not specified, its airflow is 3 cu.m/min .

The model has air quality sensors built into it so that you can monitor your indoor pollution. These sensors measure the number of large dust particles as well as PM 2.5 and ultrafine dust particles.

The air quality is indicated on the sleek control panel on the top of the model.

This model has a 3-stage filtration system which involves a pre-filter for large dust particles and hairs, a deodorizer for smells and gaseous pollutants, and Daikin’s True Electrostatic HEPA filter which combines electrostatic filtration with a HEPA filter to remove ultrafine pollutants as small as 0.1 microns.

Apart from this, it is quite a basic model. It has 4 fan speeds, ranging from Quiet to Turbo.

The company claims that the model is extremely energy efficient and is marketed as being extremely quiet, with even its maximum noise level being only 44 dB .

2) MC70MVM6

This model is designed for medium-sized rooms and can effectively cover an area of around 495 sq. ft .

While no CADR is specified, its airflow rate can go up to 7 cu. m/min on Turbo mode.

It has 5 different fan speeds which range from Quiet to Turbo and it has an energy-saving inverter which increases the efficiency of the model’s motor.

It has an Auto mode which will adjust the fan according to the detected pollution level.

The pollution is detected via PM 2.5 and dust sensors in the model and the quality is displayed via two small lamps on the control panel.

The light of the control panel can be dimmed for use during the night. It also has a sleep mode that can be used while you are sleeping as well as a timer which can be used to set a deactivation time.

The standout feature of this model is its highly effective 6-step filtration system. It has a pre-filter which removes dust and bacteria and an ionizer which uses the Daikin Stream Discharge technology to decompose viruses and bacteria as well as mold spores.

It also has electrostatic filtration which removes pollen and other allergens such as animal dander.

Finally, it has a photocatalyst filter which removes viruses, as well as odors and then gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde, are decomposed.

This model has been proved to reduce biological contaminants such as mold spores.

Furthermore, it has been shown to eliminate viruses such as the tuberculosis virus as well as the flu virus completely, along with a number of other disease-causing microbes.
